Due to stimulation of macrophages they increase their non-specific activity, and thus they enable an organism to destruct pathogenic micro-organisms much more effectively and they can prevent acute illness development.Macrophages secrete a whole range of cytokines, which helps better coordination of other immune system cells and infection handling.
They secrete factors stimulating bone marrow to improved production of white blood cells.
Glucans are liquidators of free oxygen and nitrogen radicals which damage tissues and are applied in aging pathogenesis and various diseases chronicity.
They have radioprotective effect. During radiation a great number of such free radicals is generated which are responsible for radiation-related disease.
They lower cholesterol level and together with their antioxidant activity they decrease a possibility of atherosclerosis development.
Glucans take anti-tumour effect and improve resistance to carcinogenic agents by stimulation of natural killers.
They improve efficiency of administered vaccines.
They help normalize reduced immune functions due to organism aging, allergic illnesses, recurrent infects, repeated administration of antibiotics, exhaustion, stress and increased physical strain.
Their preventive administration before scheduled operation is beneficial, they decrease a possibility of operational infects development and speed up wound healing.

Non-specific modulator beta-(1.3)-D-glucan is a substance which can significantly stimulate certain immune system cells, especially macrophages and neutrophil white blood cells, but also NK cells (natural killer cells). Macrophages play the crucial role in immune answer takeoff and maintenance. They can synthesize more than 100 different chemical substances which serve for destruction of undesirable micro-organisms, removal of damaged cells and tissues, they create conditions for successful healing of wounds, and on the other hand they secrete hormone-like substances, cytokines, interleukins and chemokines by which other cells of immune system are activated. Macrophages must, for being able to perform their function, proceed from dwell time to active state, which is a key condition of their successful activity. Organism aging is connected with reduced effectiveness of an immune system. Activity of macrophages is reduced due to allergic illnesses, polluted environment, food additives, antibiotics treatment, various types of radiation, improper nutrition, but also due to stress and excessive physical activity. Insufficient function of immune system can then manifest in overall sensation of fatigue, joint aches, aggravated wound healing, repeated bacterial, virus and candida diseases, reduced number of white blood cells, increased susceptibility to tumour diseases, and the like.Undesirable effects

What is the immune system? Immunity is defined as the bodys resistance to various diseases. Immunity is the fundamental defence mechanism, not only against a majority of pathogenic micro-organisms, but also against the proliferation of tumour cells. How does immunity work? The immune system is a system of cells and organs co-operating to defend the body against foreign pathogens. They are microbes tiny infectious organisms such as bacteria and viruses, but also parasites and fungi. The role of immunity also includes the surveillance and removal of tumour cells. If immunity fails or is impaired, this can result in various diseases - frequent colds, influenza, allergy, arthritis, and even cancer. Immunity is a complicated and dynamic communications network. Following contact with a foreign body, the immune cells start to produce chemical substances. These substances enable the cells to regulate their own proliferation, mobilize other cells, and send them to the affected sites. Immune organs are located throughout the entire body and, together with the nervous, cardiac, locomotor, and digestive systems, they ensure the bodys harmonic functioning as a whole.
This means that the basis of the immune system is the bodys ability to recognize its own and foreign cells, and to respond to them adequately. If the immune system works normally, the immune defence cells are activated only when foreign agents appear. Any agent capable of evoking a defence response of the immune cells is called an antigen. An antigen can be, for example, a bacterium, a virus, or only a part of one.
What do we that impairs our immune system? Every attack of an infection lowers the bodys natural immunity. However, the immune system is not formed only on the basis of infections. Nowadays, we are being hit by a number of negative influences that all contribute to the impairment of our immune system. Among these risk factors are an environment polluted by toxic substances, repeated or persistent stress, negative emotions, poor nutrition and lifestyle, lack of sleep, abuse of addictive substances (such as alcohol, cigarettes, and narcotics), excessive and frequent use of antibiotics, and various types of radiation. Recent research in immunology has also confirmed a close association between mental health and immunity. Situation loaded with stress, frustration and conflicts may produce pathological responses or various diseases. Stress plays a role in elevating the blood pressure, increasing the risk of cardiac infarction, the development of atherosclerosis, as well as vascular diseases of the extremities. Stress also has an effect on the development of ulcers, diabetes in predisposed persons, on digestive disorders, and on the development of tumours. The effect of these negative factors is multiplied, causing overload, and various disorders in the immune systems functioning. This results in an elevated occurrence of repeated or chronic infectious diseases and cancer. Immunity disorders may affect both the cellular and humoral component of the immune system.
Symptom of an impaired immune system. The insufficient function of the immune system can be manifested as an overall feeling of fatigue, arthralgia (joint pain), wounds that are slow to heal or do not heal completely, repeated bacterial, viral and fungal diseases, the lowered number of white blood cells, and increased susceptibility to oncological diseases.
Prevention is important Every third person suffers from a disorder of the immune system, and 70% of these people have some types of allergies. Therefore, prevention is becoming increasingly important, both in the form of training, vitamin intake, and the consumption of various nutritional supplements to support immunity, such as by taking VITAGLUCAN preparations.
What is a Glucan? Beta-(1,3)-D-Glucan is a natural polysaccharide that significantly stimulates the human immune system. It is a substance well known to medicine for several decades and is obtained from various natural sources, such as from bakers yeasts, oats, and fungi. Glucans have also been helpful in veterinary medicine.
When is it suitable to take Glucan? - if you care about your health and want to protect yourself preventively
- if you have impaired immunity and you are prone to various infections
- if you are suffering from a disease due to the impairment of your immune system
