FOR RECTAL USE ONLY.
This medicine should not be used in the presence of abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting. Frequent or prolonged use of this preparation may result in dependence on laxatives and loss of normal bowel function. If a sudden change in bowel habits is noticed that has persisted for a period greater than two weeks, consult a doctor before using the laxative. No laxative should be used for longer one week, except on the advice of a doctor. Rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after use of laxative may indicate a serious condition. Discontinue use and consult a doctor.

Gravidez e lactação

PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant while taking Glycerin Suppositories, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Glycerin Suppositories during pregnancy. It is unknown if Glycerin Suppositories is excreted in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you are using Glycerin Suppositories, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Use Glycerin Suppositories as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
Wash your hands before and after using Glycerin Suppositories.
If the suppository is too soft to use, put it in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes or run cold water over it. Then remove the wrapper and moisten the suppository with cool water. Lie down on your

side. Insert the pointed end of the suppository into the rectum, then use your finger to push it in completely.
If you miss a dose of Glycerin Suppositories, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses in the same day, unless directed otherwise by your doctor.

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome:
Anal irritation; burning sensation; diarrhea; gas; nausea; stomach cramps.
Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); rectal bleeding.

Overdose

Symptoms may include diarrhea; stomach cramps.

Glycerin Suppositories is a hyper osmotic laxative. It works by irritating the lining of the intestine and increasing the amount of fluid, making it easier for stools to pass.

Store Glycerin Suppositories at room temperature, between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Glycerin Suppositories out of the reach of children and away from pets.
