Ensuring that the cold chain is kept cold is vital for patient safety. If temperature sensitive materials, such as vaccines and other biologics, are not kept cold throughout the supply chain, there can be devastating consequences for the patients. Therefore it is vital that manufacturers as well as logistics and distribution suppliers work together to ensure the quality of the validation and monitoring processes. Setting up a cold chain for a new product during clinical trials, or for a market in a new climate zone, is challenging. There are new regulations to take into account, as well as a broad range of new technology and service providers to evaluate. Visiongain is now providing you with an arena where colleagues from different areas of the cold supply chain will share their knowledge and experience in validation, monitoring, tracking systems, communication systems, and in case of any problems, risk management systems.
In the interest of finding ways to ensure patient safety by a safe and efficient cold chain, Visiongain is dedicating its second cold chain conference to:
Cold chain planning and set up
A global perspective on transport of temperature sensitive materials
Validation and monitoring throughout the cold chain
Key speakers:
Pier Pollini, Supply Chain Executive Director, Baxter
Norman Clarke, Director, Quality Assurance, Pfizer
Frank Steer, Formerly Director General, Chartered Quality Institute
Robert Hayes, Director, Seerpharma
Douglas Kent, Member of the leadership team, Supply Chain Council
Christianna Papazahariou, Secretary General, European Cold Storage and Logistics Association
Greg Wood, Managing Director, STFI-packforsk
By attending you will:
Examine different aspects of the planning a new cold supply chain
Develop strategies for setting up a cold chain for clinical trials
Analyse how to best use a risk management approach throughout the supply chain
Discuss the value of RFID in the cold supply chain
Examining the value of real time temperature monitoring
Exploring the value gained by monitoring the supply chain
Adapting the cold chain to global regulatory requirements
Debating the advantages with an integrated European distribution function
Gaining information on how to validate the cold chain efficiently
Discussing different methods and technologies for streamlining the cold supply chain
